GETTING STARTED
Your first listening group
Get set up in a few simple steps and start listening together.
01ใConnect your headphones
Pair compatible devices with your Mac.
02ใCreate a group
Choose New group, select your devices, give the group a name, and save it.
03ใStart sharing
Turn the group on and choose each deviceโs volume.
Viewing another group wonโt change whatโs playing.

The public installer is not available yet. Installation instructions will be published once the signed release package has been verified.
Check Compatibility for the current development requirements.
-
Put your headphones into pairing mode and pair them with your Mac through macOS Bluetooth settings.
Choose Add device in Hearuno for setup guidance and supported device discovery, with a Bluetooth settings fallback.
Once the headphones are connected and available as an audio output, select them when creating or editing a listening group.
-
Choose New group, select your outputs, name the group, and save it.
Click a saved group to view its devices. Turn its group switch on to start sharing.
Only one group shares at a time. Viewing a different group does not change the active group. Starting a group turns every memberโs Sound on at its remembered volume.
-
Yes. Open Edit group or choose Add device in the sharing group. Select your connected audio outputs and save your changes.
The same group keeps sharing, with existing Sound settings, group mute and remembered device volumes preserved. New members start with Sound on at their latest volume.
A brief pause may occur while audio outputs change. If the update fails, Hearuno keeps or restores the previous group and audio route where possible.
HEADPHONES & GROUPS
Connect, save and share.
-
Start playing audio in another app.
Check that the intended group is sharing.
Confirm that the headphones are connected and available.
Check each deviceโs Sound switch and volume.
Check whether the group is muted.
If there is still no sound from other apps, review system audio access below.
A silent source alone does not prove that permission was denied. Some protected content may be unavailable for sharing.
-
Open System Settings โ Privacy & Security โ Screen & System Audio Recording.
Allow Hearuno under System Audio Recording Only. If macOS asks you to quit and reopen Hearuno, do so, then start your group again.
The exact labels may vary with your macOS version.
-
Each device remembers its latest volume across all groups. Changing its volume in one group updates the level used by that device in other groups.
Device volume also changes that outputโs native macOS volume and can affect other apps using it.
Where native control is unavailable, Hearuno volume affects Hearunoโs shared audio only.
-
Sound off silences Hearuno on one device without disconnecting it or removing it from the group.
Mute group temporarily silences the group while preserving individual Sound settings and saved volumes.
Stop sharing ends the shared audio route and keeps your saved groups.
When you start a stopped group again, all member Sound switches turn on at their remembered volumes.
-
Stop sharing and compare ordinary Mac playback.
Reconnect the affected output, then try sharing with two devices. Close demanding apps and check whether playback improves.
If another app uses Bluetooth headphones as a headset microphone, their audio format may change. Reconnect the output or stop and restart sharing if it becomes unavailable.
These checks help narrow down the problem; the symptom alone does not establish its cause.
SOUND & VOLUME
No sound? Start here.
Try these checks if you canโt hear the movie in both headphones.
